A Phonex Tale (Japanese: フォネクス冒険譚, Fonekusu Bōkentan, Phonex Adventure Story) is a Blade Quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It can be received from Nim at Fonsett Island in the Leftherian Archipelago after Nim has reached level 3 Affinity Rewards. This quest is required to advance Nim's "Phonex Linguistics" Field Skill. Upon completion of this quest Nim's level 3 "Phonex Linguistics" Field Skill is unlocked.

Objectives[]

  1. "Visit the Phonex Village in Ysheva Harbor, Leftheria." (Dromarch must be equipped to Nia)
  2. "Speak to the Phonex in the Phonex village in Ysheva Harbor, Leftheria."
  3. "Speak to Mix in Fonsett Residential Area, Leftheria."
  4. "Collect Pinfins in Leftheria."
  5. "Speak with Gox at Ysheva Harbor, Leftheria."
  6. "Look for the Phonex village in Uraya."
  7. "Look for a Phonex outside its village, somewhere in Uraya."
  8. "Collect Cobalt Eels in Uraya".
    • The 10 Cobalt Eels can be found at a Collection Point just behind Tardy Gate with the help of Nim's "Ichthyology" field skill.
  9. "Speak with one of the Phonexes at Crown of Sanctuary, Uraya."
  10. "Look for a Phonex village in Temperantia."
  11. "Look for a Phonex outside its village, somewhere in Temperantia."
  12. "Collect Trippy Catfish in Temperantia."
    • The 10 Trippy Catfish can be found at a collection point south of the Ardainian Garrison on the beach with the help of Nim's "Ichthyology" field skill.
  13. "Speak with one of the Phonexes in Aegishammer, Temperantia."
    • A level 97 Gefillon Behemoth may be sitting on the objective, but it is possible to aggro the Behemoth then runaway to the top of the near by cliff and then go to the objective before the Behemoth respawns.
  14. "Go to Ruined Chapel of Danafas, Temperantia."
  15. "Defeat the Vacillus Antol at the Ruined Chapel of Danafas, Temperantia.
  16. "Defeat the Demon Mamongath at Isle of Urchon, Leftheria."
  17. "Visit the Phonex Village in Ysheva Harbor, Leftheria."
