An Ancient Legend (Japanese: 古の伝承, Inishie no Denshō) is a Normal Mission in Xenoblade Chronicles X. It can be received from Nimu Turton on the Starboard side of the Ma-non Ship in New Los Angeles.

Note: A dialog choice made during Slovity's Rampage determines whether it is possible to get her help and achieve Route B in this mission.

1. "Make preparations to survive the crisis."
   • A Route - "Rivals"
     • "Talk to Oche Wolfen on the East Gate Plain in Primordia and begin the battle."
   • B Route - "Allies"
     • "Talk to Slovity on the East Gate Plain in Primordia and begin the battle."
2. "Defend against the onslaught of indigens for two minutes on the East Gate Plain in Primordia."
   • A Route: Onslaught of 15 Dread Blattas
   • B Route: Onslaught of 10 Bruiser Blattas
3. "Defend against the onslaught of indigens for two minutes on the East Gate Plain in Primordia."
   • A Route: Onslaught of 10 Dread Petramands
   • B Route: Onslaught of 5 Bruiser Petramands
4. "Defend against the onslaught of indigens for two minutes on the East Gate Plain in Primordia."
   • A Route: Onslaught of 4 Dread Ciniculas
   • B Route: Onslaught of 2 Bruiser Ciniculas
5. "Talk to Nimu Turton in the starboard side of the Ma-non ship."

Results

A Route: "Disaster has been averted. However, the large number of enemies resulted in casualties."
B Route: "Disaster has been averted. Thanks to the help of the Cavern Clan, there were no casualties."
