BLADE Medals were a game mechanic in Xenoblade Chronicles X. They could be obtained by releasing Scouted BLADEs after their Scout level had been raised to the maximum (indicated by a star). The Scout level would increase by participating in combat with the online allies. Medals were also sometimes received for completing Squad Tasks. The mechanic was discontinued with the shutdown of Wii U online services.
BLADE Medals were required to attempt the two Global Nemesis Squad Missions: The Final Menace and The Planet's Guardian.
