The Bright Wisp (Japanese: 濃密のランプス, Nōmitsu no Rampusu) is a quest-exclusive enemy in Xenoblade Chronicles. It is a member of the Wisp family, and can be found at level 53 amidst a group of Tramont Wisps at night on the westernmost end of Digit 3 on the Fallen Arm, during Power Up!. It will respawn until the first objective is completed, meaning the party has not yet collected the five Silver Antol Fibres needed for the quest. It will drop a Wisp Bliss Ring, two of which are needed for En Argentis' Betrothal Test.

The Bright Wisp always drops a Strong Lubricant Oil, but this Key Item serves no purpose, nor is it necessary to defeat the Bright Wisp to complete the quest, and they are not mentioned in the quest text. As it can respawn, it is possible to collect more than one Strong Lubricant Oil. In any case, if one or more Strong Lubricant Oils are collected, one will be deducted upon completion of this quest.

Notes[]

  • Defeating the Bright Wisp 100 times will cause the game to lock up. Since the inventory cannot hold more than 99 of the same item, and Key Items cannot be sold or discarded, it is impossible to accept or discard the Strong Lubricant Oil dropped by the 100th Bright Wisp. The only way out of this impasse is to reset the game and reload from the most recent save file.
