Chapter 9 (Japanese: 第9章 ラースの武人, Daikyūshō: Rāsu no Bujin) is a Story Mission in Xenoblade Chronicles X. It can be received from Vandham at the BLADE Barracks in New Los Angeles. This mission corresponds to Chapter 9 of the main plot.
Once this mission is accepted, the party cannot recruit Lao for the rest of the game.

- "Head to the Lifehold unit in Sylvalum's Shivering Sands."
- Achieve all objectives
- "Defeat Ga Jiarg."
- "Defeat Ga Buidhe."
- "Defeat the Wrothian Warriors." (4)
- The Wrothian Warriors consist of 3 Wrothian Enacters and 1 Wrothian Sneaker.
- Achieve all objectives
- "Defeat the Vasara."
- "Defeat Deva Caladar."
- "Enter the maintenance center in New LA's administrative district."
