Colonies (Japanese: コロニー, Koronī) are recurrent living places in the Xenoblade Chronicles series.

Xenoblade Chronicles[]

Colony 9 and Colony 6 in Xenoblade Chronicles are two military cities built by Homs and guarded by their armies, the Defence Force. There were originally more colonies than this, but the others were wiped out after the Battle of Sword Valley. Colony 9 reappears in Future Connected, appearing during the credits.

Xenoblade Chronicles X[]

In Xenoblade Chronicles X, Humans who landed on the planet Mira, have built the city of New Los Angeles under the protection of the BLADE, a private military organization. New Los Angeles can be viewed as a Human colony on Mira.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3[]

Colonies in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Future Redeemed are the military settlements of Keves and Agnus. They are scattered throughout the world of Aionios, and the people make these colonies the center of their lives. The Ferronis at the center of the colony is a huge mobile base and a weapon for battle. Each Colony is led by a Commander and overseen by a Consul. Kevesi colonies are named after numbers and Agnian colonies are named after letters in the Greek alphabet. Some Colonies act not for either nation, but operate directly for the goals of Moebius.

The party is able to rest and Shop at colonies, and build Affinity with their inhabitants by accepting Quests once they have been liberated from the colony's Flame Clock.[1]

Additionally, the original Colony 9 reappears in Future Redeemed, being the base of operations for the Liberators.

Ranks[]

Colonies are assigned ranks by the Castles, the center of the nation, which determine their priority in receiving supplies and their overall quality of life. In reality, the ranks are a sham meant to motivate the soldiers into fighting more effectively- while Colonies which reach Gold rank are supposedly excused from having to fight any further, any Colony which achieves Gold Rank is actually raided and destroyed by the Consuls so they can claim its life energy.

When a Colony is liberated, the Warning Level of the nation of the colony will increase, up to Level 5.
