The Drop Shaft (Japanese: 縦穴空洞, Tateana Kūdō) is a landmark in Xenoblade Chronicles X. It is an enclosed shaft with two lower areas and a cave, located in Primordia, just south of the Arendt Bridge. The entrance is located on the upper crag area of Talon Rock Summit and as such, access requires a Skell with a flight module equipped.
A mix of low level and level 60 enemies inhabit the interior cavern, as well as the level 69 Tyrant Necro, the Cavelord. During the daytime the Drop Shaft's namesake entrance is guarded by the level 90 Tyrant Elvira, the Talondrake. There is also a level 4 archaeological Treasure Box in the cave.
