Enemies are the AI-controlled opponents faced by the party in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Future Redeemed.

Overview[]

Enemies can be found throughout the world of Aionios, alone or in groups, and can be fought by the party to gain experience or progress in the story. When enemies are defeated, the party gains EXP and two other skill points.

There are four types of monsters: Normal Monsters, Elite Monsters, Unique Monsters, and Lucky Monsters.[1]

  • Normal monsters are usually members of a species, reflected in the second part of their names (for example, Heavy Brog are members of the Brog family).
  • Elite monsters are monsters that are stronger than normal monsters. They can be identified by a blue icon on the sides of its nameplate.
  • Lucky monsters are as powerful as normal monsters, but defeating them rewards better items. They are identified by a shine on its nameplate.
  • Unique monsters are powerful monsters with names that consist of an adjective and a name. They can be identified by a red icon on the sides of its nameplate.

Enemies, like playable characters, have levels and use arts in battle.

A complete list of enemies in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Future Redeemed can be found at List of Enemies in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Skirmishes[]

Main article: Skirmish

Occasionally, the party will encounter groups of soldiers or monsters fighting one another in the field. They can choose to join either side of the battle, with each offering different rewards, such as Gold, Bonus Experience, Affinity with a local colony, or Nopon Coins. However, when the party is helping one group as part of a quest, it is not possible to join the other group.

Ecology[]

"Bleh, it just spat something out!"
— Eunie

In the field, certain enemies may perform ecology actions. When this happens, a red ! appears above the enemy signaling that a collectible will appear shortly after. Some examples of ecology actions include Gogols taking bites out of fruit before throwing it away, Pippitos digging up minerals when burrowing into the ground, and Aspars regurgitating the meat of their prey. If the player is nearby, one of the main characters may comment on what is happening.
