Even In the Chief's Absence (Japanese: 村長がいなくても, Sonchō ga Inakutemo) is a quest in Xenoblade Chronicles. It can be received from Miko in the Prophecy Hut in Frontier Village. If Reyn is in the active party, he will comment. A relationship prerequisite between Lalapa and Miko is necessary by talking to Lalapa (any quest involving them like Giant Attack! should not be triggered or must be completed beforehand), and the Affinity Chart will change:

• "Chat to Pelupelu."
  • Hint: From 22:00 to 03:00 near the Contemplation Terrace.
• "Get advice from Miko."
• "Grab 5 portions of Piranhax Belly Meat from Makna Piranhaxes in Makna Forest."
  • Hint: Trade with Hoko (☆1). From 12:00 to 15:00, Top Housing Level
• "Chat to Pelupelu and show him the Piranhax Belly Meat."
• "Go see Miko."
