Chimeras (Japanese: キマエラ, Kimaera) are enemies in Xenoblade Chronicles X. They are abominations created by the Lifehold Core. They do not appear as normal enemies, only being story exclusive, a Tyrant, and a Boss. The Soldier Chimeras, Lao and Lugalbanda, the Wanderer-King are registered in the Enemy Index under the Chimera subcategory while the Queen, Major, Mezzo and Minor Chimeras are not registered.

"A malfunction in the Lifehold's control system created these biological monstrosities from protoplasmic fluid. Their grotesque forms are due to being composed of an erratic jumbling of various genetic data."

Characteristics[]
Normal chimeras are grotesque monsters that vaguely resemble crocodiles. However, their head splits into four jaws, with the upper pair hanging apart. They have three tails with webbing in between them. Their thick legs end in sharp claws, with thumbs acting as a high heel. Their chests and shoulders are covered in numerous yellowish eyes.
