Xenoblade Wiki

Gaur Plain (Japanese: ガウル平原, Gauru Heigen) is a location in Xenoblade Chronicles. It is located on the lower level of Bionis' Leg, and describes the whole area between Jabos Rock Rest Area and Viliera Hill. The music track for the Bionis' Leg area is named "Gaur Plain" as well. This is the biggest free-roaming location on Bionis' Leg.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3[]

In Xenoblade Chronicles 3, parts of Gaur Plain make up part of Millick Meadows.

In the Super Smash Bros. series[]

Gaur Plain in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Gaur Plain appears as Shulk's home stage in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The stage mainly takes place on top of the arcs, which were originally inaccessible in Xenoblade Chronicles, but Gaur Plain also has two main upper platforms with several smaller platforms floating underneath, over a body of water underneath the lower boundary area of the stage. The stage cycles between day and night, like in Xenoblade Chronicles. Between Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, more platforms appear in the latter, including two solid platforms with springs that can take the player to the top of the stage. Gaur Plain's return in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is more closely based on its appearance in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Mechonis can be seen in the background.

Despite its name, Gaur Plain is located near the Bionis' knee, but the area where he is fought appears to be closer to the center of the Bionis' Leg. However, similarly to the chosen music name, this can be dismissed as the developers alternatively calling the Bionis' Leg as Gaur Plain, due to Gaur Plain being the largest area on the Bionis' Leg.

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Metal Face can sometimes be fought as a stage boss during the nighttime. Metal Face can affect the stage by shooting lasers that can destroy the platforms, lowering the top platform as a result, though the platforms are restored during the daytime. When leaving, Metal Face may attack by flying across the stage. Like with other stage bosses, Metal Face can be defeated after taking enough damage.
