Ghondor Vandham (Japanese: ゴンドウ・ヴァンダム, Gondō Vandamu) is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. She was designed by Masatsugu Saito, the lead character designer of the game.

Overview[]

She is the daughter of Monica and the granddaughter of Guernica Vandham. She is small but has a great sense of combat and fights with her fists. She is a very brave person who is never intimidated by huge enemies and never loses. While her cynicism and brutal honesty make it difficult for her to get along with others, especially her mother (who she refers to as "Bitchqueen" (クソ女)), she does genuinely care for her friends and family despite trying to act harshly towards them. She is one of the six Ouroboros candidates, alongside Jansen, Olive, Kryto, Cyma, and Nissick, and is accompanied by her guards Aggy and Oggy at all times, who call her "お嬢", "Ojō". [1]

She is recruited as a Hero shortly after starting Chapter 6. Her Class Rank can be increased to 20 by completing the Ascension Quest, Knowing Your Family.

She also plays a role in Side Story: Sena, to help Ouroboros save the City from Shania who has now become a Moebius.

Gameplay[]

Ghondor fights as a Martial Artist, an Agnian Attacker class.

Arts[]

In a Chain Attack, Ghondor starts with 35 TP by default. Ghondor's Chain Art is Avalanche Onslaught, and her Heroic Chain bonus makes her always reactivate in addition to the usual reactivations based on the prior Chain Order's results.

Base Stats[]

These are Ghondor's raw stats prior to modifications by class. They serve as a baseline for calculating her stats in the Martial Artist class (see its page for the corresponding multipliers which adjust these stats). Intermediate values are linearly interpolated between these base stats.

Trivia[]

  • Ghondor shares notable similarities to Rico from Xenogears, a character in charge of prisoners of a capital city with his own bodyguards. Both ended up being betrayed by a close friend along with the party.
  • She shares a first name with her ancestor, likely being named after him.
  • She is the only Hero that permanently joins the party by progressing the main story without completing a Hero Quest or go to a certain location to acquire.
  • She and Monica are the only Heroes who cannot directly join the party in the trek through Origin until the party defeats the Kurria Flaks.
