Investigating Satorl (Japanese: ザトールの調査, Zatōru no Chōsa) is a quest in Xenoblade Chronicles. It can be received from Miriall in the Ether Plant at Eryth Sea, only if the party has not completed Talia's Research, has accepted The Missing Boy, and has cleared Mechonis Core. This quest and Talia's Research Alcamoth quest are mutually exclusive.

By completing either this quest or Talia's Research, the party will have access to the next quest, Ancient High Entia Mystery, that will unlock Melia's fifth skill branch. Talia will have a full new trade at Satorl Marsh only during this quest (or during Talia's Research).

Objectives

• "Defeat Dogmatic Gogol near the Place of Judgement in Satorl Marsh."
  • It is level 35.
• "Talk to Talia who is at the Place of Judgement in Satorl Marsh."
  • She can be found by travelling to the Glowing Obelisk landmark, then going east and upwards to the river. After that by going up the hill and a Gogol, Talia will be standing behind the stone.
• "Talk to Talia who is on the Ether Plant at Eryth Sea."
  • She can be found under the platform at around 22:00

Results

"Talia wanted to complete the research into the War God faith for her lost friends."

• Upon completion of the quest, the Affinity Chart will change if Kacha is spoken to:

Melia: "How could she go off alone when things are so dangerous? I cannot just ignore the peril of a fellow High Entia. Please leave this to us."

Miriall: "If you ask, I am sure she will tell you the reasons for her actions. If I was a little younger, I would want to help her out myself."

Melia: "So she is prepared to go to Satorl despite the great personal risk... I would like to know her reason. I hope the others will agree but we must go after her."
