Kite (Japanese: カイツ, Kaitsu) is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Overview

Kite is the lieutenant of Colony 9 under Commander Zeon. He can be found in Colony 9. He wields a staff type Blade. His squad is composed of Eastman, Trish and Fox. He disagrees with Zeon on various policies, and leads a dissenting faction within Colony 9.

Story

In one of his earlier Terms, Kite trained with Noah and the others at Colony 14. He fought in Garvel's squad alongside Hoope and Layla, all of whom often picked fights with Noah's team. Garvel's squad beat Noah's squad in a training competition, which led to Kite receiving a medal of honor alongside the rest of the squad.

Sometime after the attack on Colony 14 by Agnus troops, Kite was relocated to Colony 9 alongside Noah's squad, while his former squad mates went to Colony 8 instead. There, he eventually rose up the ranks to become lieutenant, leading his own squad, and expected to become the next commander after the current commander's death. However, Zeon was chosen instead, someone whose policies he heavily disagreed with. This caused Kite to be greatly frustrated with him, and the traitorous Ouroboros who Zeon defended.

Kite gradually opens up to the reality of Zeon as commander, after seeing how hard he tries for the colony, even going with him on a trip to Colony Tau during the quest Reasons to Evolve, in order to learn their farming methods, and encounters their commander Juniper, who he falls in love with. By the end of the quest, he fully accepts Zeon as the true leader of Colony 9.
