For this area's appearance in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, see Land of Challenge (XC3).

The Land of Challenge (Japanese: 挑戦の地, Chōsen no Chi) is a special DLC Area and Landmark in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Overview[]

The Land of Challenge is located atop the Unbroken Pillar in a realm outside of Alrest and was created by the Nopon Archsage. It serves as the main hub for Challenge Battle Mode. It is accessible from the Olethro Ruins via a portal, which is activated once the player completes Chapter 3 and collects the Nopon Summons from the Challenge Battle Mode Pack of the Expansion Pass. During New Game Plus, the portal can be found outside the Chairman's Room in the Argentum Trade Guild before Chapter 4 if the summons are collected before New Game Plus. The player is unable to save the game, bond with Core Crystals, or access Skip Travel in the Land of Challenge. The first time the Land of Challenge is accessed, Pyra, Dromarch, and Poppi must be currently engaged in the party. If any of them are not in the active party, the portal will not appear until all of them are engaged.

The Land of Challenge is surrounded by a waterfall of clouds reminiscent of the edge of the Cloud Sea and the Great Void.
