The future doesn't belong to you!

For those who have not completed games in the Xenoblade Chronicles series, this page contains spoilers regarding the plot. Discretion is advised.

Launch is a debuff in Xenoblade Chronicles X. Launch causes those inflicted to be flung away. Party members generally fly away from the source of infliction, while enemies generally fly straight up. Some Skell Battle Arts inflict Launch as a side-effect of the attack. Enemies can only be Launched if they are of a certain, small size.

Launch can be inflicted outside of battle in two ways. The first is by walking over small enemies with a Skell. This will deal damage and engage battle. The second is by coming into contact with a sufficiently large enemy. This will not engage battle.
