  • Hi Flanqer,

    I was just looking over the pages for TTGC arts and wanted to add the images for them. Unfortunately I have no good way to capture high quality images of the art icons at present. I also noticed that you were the user to put all the other icon images on the wiki. I wanted to ask you then if you could provide those images that we still need for the wiki. No need to rush it though, I'll probably get arround to updating those pages in a week or so.

  • Hi Flanqer. I am currently adding info, completing or correcting a few things for XC1, particularly things I had planned to do but I did not have enough time or forgot... in particular, the famous Affinity Chart/Links info completion plus correction on NPCs and quests pages, "walkthrough", etc. I wanted to do. You had taken the lead by working on Affinity Links info completion and publishing it in your user space: User:Flanqer/Affinity Links. I am planning to start to publish in my user space a kind of Affinity Chart/Links "walkthrough" and see how it looks, and I will be able to complete missing captions or prerequisites on your Affinity Links subpages. Would you like me and do you allow me to do it? I know you plan to add them directly in the wiki one day.

    I was active on the forums a year or so ago, tabling out arts, skills, weaponry numbers etc.. I forget if we ever corresponded, but I was wondering how you got the pictures for, specifically, the Mephite and Terebra pages.

    I want to give the enemy pages a big update, including 'base' stats, size variation, and the full list of materials they drop, but I was after isolated pictures of the creatures, ideally in their holofigure poses, rather than screen captured from the enemy index. If I can get a full set of shots like the ones you have for the mephite color variations, that would be ideal.

    I thought it best to ask the in-house tech expert. PyroBurn brought up the sorting problem with Template:XC2_Rarity. I use "data-sort-value" to bypass that but I was wondering if this could be implemented into the template itself.

    Looking at the source code for different Templates, I wonder if this would work

    If this works right, this would enable users to put in "row=..." in their call for the template. That would tell the template to add a data-sort-value to the returning string.

    It is also dynamic. If the user wants to make the row background a specific colour for example, they can't do

    The template would expand to have the line have two "|" which would break the structure. but if they call

    | {{XC2 Rarity|1|row=style="background: red;" }}

    it should format right I think

    • I've updated the XC2 Enemy drops template. It'll take a little while for my bot to update all the references.

      The "rarity" parameters of the "XC2 Enemy drops" template have changed, so now you just give it a number from 1 to 3, for example:

      |rarity1  = 3
      

      This makes it easier for the drops template to add the data-sort-values, and should also make the template easier to use.

  • Greetings, Lord Flanqer!

    When looking at your profile, I realized that Lua script can be implemented into the Wiki. I haven't heard of the language before, but with a quick look, the syntax seems to be quite similar to Java and C++. Ceiling Master suggested I ask you for further details on how it works. I was wondering if you have any links to wiki pages which have the script in them, so I could see how it's implemented?

    • Not with Lua. I'm sure it can be done with JavaScript, but we'd have to ask Fandom to enable custom JS for our wiki, and the scripts would have to be submitted to Fandom for review.

      You can, however, write personal JS that affects only you. This can be used to test a script before proposing it for approval.

  • Will you stop undoing my edits? Your reasons are non constructive. I put the different levels of Decoy in the page because the art has different levels of Decoy. And different levels of Decoy make a difference to the arts effectiveness. Leaving that out is just removing information that helps people understand the art better.

    Maybe you can help me understand why you want this wiki to be as uninformative as can be. If this is the way you treat the wiki I see why it has so little valuable information. Quests that give no guidance other than what the game already tells you, skills and arts that are just as vague as the game, even though more information is available. Especially to those that have a lot of experience with the game. I've never been on a wiki that prides itself in not helping the people that play the game.

    • The best advice I can give is to read the Help pages over on Community Central, particularly:

      Other than that, make sure you read all the rules, and choose a suitable subject that doesn't already have a FANDOM community. Wikis on FANDOM are usually for things that have (or could have) a fan following: videogames, TV shows, movies, comic books, etc.

    • On most English PC keyboards, it's the same key as "\". It's located above the Enter key and below the delete/backspace key.

      In the Visual Editor, you can add a caption by clicking on the picture while editing the page; in the popup window that appears, click on the image's filename in the popup window.

  • Hello! I have a question about the general order of how we should organize drops in the table. There seems to be 3 catagories, "Core Crystal", "Enemy Part" (or "Enemy Drop" in the datamine), and "Other" (which includes Aux Cores, Accessories, and Core Chips). From what I've seen, the order seems to be "Core Crystal" -> "Other" -> "Enemy Part", but I'd like to make sure if that's correct and there isn't anything I'm missing! Thanks!

    • I would argue the Field Conversations page doesn't belong on the wiki. As Flanqer said, it's not particularly useful (Heart-to-Hearts and battle quotes tend to be more indicative of character then just the generic text, as seen on the XC1 and XCX character pages). For quests or NPC dialogue, I think paraphrasing the important parts of each dialogue would be more effective (keep in mind that this is a wiki, not a pure database, so readability and accessibility are also important).

    • It seems like it's split between people who like reading about extra story content and chararcters, and people who don't. I personally think the page isn't being forced to anyone so if they are interested, it's there, and if not, they can ignore it. But it might be good to wait and let others voice their opinions on the matter.

      And I was going to put quest dialogue at the bottom and in tabbers to reduce page size. I personally think it'd be nice to read back on especially early game text which you can only activate with a quest. Like for example, people could have missed that when Nia was taken prisoner and you were collecting info from people, someone mentions "a chief of Gormott having a daugher named...". Or a lot of Alrest or story lore which could be locked behind quests.

      I have obtained a copy of the The Complete Guide. I've found that the states in the book and on here don't always add up, so I prefer the info here. I'd like to know how complete and correct you think this book and also the Secret File is. Any info is welcome!

      Comprehensive Affinity Chart

      I created an English version of the affinity chart from the Monado Archives. In addition to showing the possible links and affinity levels, I also marked the NPCs who can be invited to Colony 6; indicated which pairs of immigrants are mutually exclusive; and indicated which links are dependent on those mutually-exclusive immigrants.

      I cross-checked this chart against the data from the JCE. The differences are:

      • Kiroki + Satata: Yellow affinity
      • Piko + Popipo: Green affinity
      • Zain + Talia: Yellow affinity
      • Kaelin + Lecrough: Green affinity (verified correct via one of my save files)

      I've included these on this chart, with the first three marked to indicate the uncertainty. I've also added notes about those three links to the Affinity Links pages in my userspace.

      If your copy of The Complete Guide says "New Nintendo 3DS" on the cover, it supposedly corrects some mistakes that were in the first edition of the book, but I don't know what was corrected.

      I think The Complete Guide and Secret File – Monado Archives are mostly accurate, but I wouldn't expect them to be completely error-free. Even if the authors got 100% accurate data straight from the developers, errors could creep in during the process of retyping, copy/pasting, editing, and/or formatting the information. Of course the same can be said about fan-produced resources, including this wiki.
