Hi, I'm new to the wiki (hence the new account) and wanted to ask a question or two before editing anything. You seemed to be the most active user, so I figured I would ask you. I recently got into the Xeno series and have loved it so far! I already have 250 hours on XC:DE, and havent had XC2 for long enough to see playtime on the switch yet. While reading pages to make sure i was doing every sidequest in XC2, I noticed many people asking for the list to be reformatted in a way that could be seen chronologically in the story. I would like to help, as it seems no one else is doing this. Is there any reason its been so long, or have people just not gotten around to it yet? I hope I can be of help on the wiki in the future, and want to say thanks for being so helpful over all the years of the xeno series being released! You certainly have a lot of dedication!
Hi Xential, welcome to Xenoblade Wiki. Thank you for your proposal, help is always welcome. To be quiet since new contributor, I suggest you to create a test/proposal page on your userspace where to build such a quests table seen chronologically in the story. As such you can work quietly, then you can show it later and propose it to the community. I think it shall be approved, as you can see for XC1 quests page we have added two types of parallel tables, one following story progression, one following in-game inventory order. Pages created on your userspace will have these links:
Thanks for the swift response! I used the Xential Quest page to familiarize myself with how to create a table with tabs and such. How do I create a new userspace page? (i.e. Xential/Argentum Trade Guild Quests Reformatted)
I never test from the handheld mode, you can make a "same" screenshot and compare with one you have added. However for me, the screenshots you have recently added are nice, it is true that the resolution is not great, maybe you can try to get them in PNG instead of JPEG.
First of all, I forgot to write, you are doing this work nicely for the wiki, so there is no reason to impose you anything! So do what is more convenient or comfortable for you, so here screenshoting via handheld mode. Since the purpose of the wiki is to be encylopaedic and informative (thus far not a wallpapers database!), it is already very nice to have those screenshots even from handheld mode. As I thought, you win a lot with the PNG format, the loss with JPEG is significant.
Hi NDS123, but these are not portraits, these images show the whole character, the initial image is a portrait. And the best for character infoboxes are portraits from official artwork. In XC1, the portraits from artwork of all the main characters, together wiewable here Xenoblade_Chronicles#Characters.
I see that Bokoko and Dobadoba have an affinity link, but I don't know how to achieve it. I have completed all the quests regarding Dobadoba and Bokoko and I have tried to speak to Bokoko at 6 pm in the game, but nothing. Someone said Colony 6 needs to be complete and mine is at 85% because I have not defeated Demon King Dragonia yet. Is there any way to confirm this?
Hi, I was in the way to answer you in the Dobadoba page comments, I was just checking in my User:WiseAdventurer/Affinity Chart and Links reports, it is one of the affinity link that you can only be obtained in the end of the game (after Mechonis Core events and latest quests (see below)), it still needs a final checking but here what I have noted:
I've run into hassle in my appearance page'ing; something in my code is breaking pages but I'm not sure what. See Appearance/Shulk; the tables appear as they should but then the foot of the webpage itself completely snarls up. I think this must arise from <div class="mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" data-expandtext="Show More" data-collapsetext="Show Less"> </div> , but I don't understand why or how to fix it without removing the drop-downs entirely. Can you help?
I've been working on the linking XCX weapon pages to various holofigures for a while now. However I've noticed that there are a few armor sets that need categorizing but I don't know where to start. I still have plenty of weapons to go through so you can take your time with your answer.
About weapons and armor, we have to continue and expand tables in main pages, Weapons (XCX), Skell Weapons, Armor, Skell Wear, etc. Once all of this work is complete, every page will be linked and correctly categorised. It is a work in progress, and I plan to come back to this along with a few other contributors who are currently editing or completing these pages. It still remains a massive work to provide for XCX. I should also indicate somewhere not to remove the augment infobox for weapons that are bought or crafted...
Hi, yes, I have just seen the news on the official Japanese Twitter accounts of Xenoblade and MS, I am going to add them. I am waiting for the official Nintendo of America publication to add the detailed on the Xenoblade Chronicles page. Thanks.
Hello WA. I recently found out that the Affinity (XC2) page was still very incomplete, so I decided to try to update it accordingly to the template of the Tension (XC1) page and improve upon it with missing information. Since you were the biggest contributor to the page in the past I thought it'd be a good idea to check up with you on what I cooked up, before implementing any changes.
Hello Pierah. It looks great, an excellent work! About the "feeling too verbose" point, I will read more carefully. However you should publish the proposal on the forum for the whole community (who decide, not only me or admins alone), I am sure everyone will agree but you can have more shared points and advices.
His Japanese name is Kamuya, that sounds similar to Kamui from Fire Emblem Fates. Since that character is called Corrin (which differs from Corvin by only a letter) in the Western release, the theme naming may be intentional. Like Corrin, Corvin has white hair and his weapon is a katana.
Since both Xenoblade and Fire Emblem are developed by Nintendo, and most other DLC Blades are either members of Torna or other characters from the Xeno series (KOS-MOS, T-Elos, Shulk, Fiora), Corvin really sticks out. I think he may be based on the Fire EMblem character, as both the Japanese and English names are incredibly similat, (Kamui/Kamuya, Corrin/Corvin), they resemble each other and both use katana
Hi Tokoyami no Nietzsche. "Developed by Nintendo" means nothing, Xenoblade and Fire Emblem are developed by two different teams, respectively Monolithsoft and Intelligent Systems, Nintendo is the common publisher. This trivia would be probably pertinent on a general Nintendo wiki, but not on this wiki, in articles of course, there is no problem to share it in comments or the forum.
Hi Tokoyami no Nietzsche. The reason is that the purpose of the wiki is encyclopaedic, however you add something that is hypothetical or speculative instead of factual (even though it is well probable), worse you affirmed something that is finally a "strong chance" to be, and in the name of Nintendo, that is why I asked for a reference. About the current "Blackface" stereotypes removal from different media, it obviously does not concern Xenoblade since Black Face was a given surname to something totally not related, while in some concerned TV series episodes in current actuality, the stereotypes or caricatures was clearly used.
