  • a. Why this category? and  b. Are you aware that previously it has been an XCX pages only category?

      Loading editor
    • When I take a look at the maintenance, some of these previous categories (and without game specified, like "Enemies needing stats‎" or "Enemy pages needing drops"‎, but unlike "XCX Item pages...") were free, I thought this one also, or I made a confusion with another one. WiseBot will arrange this.

    • Yeah, they were used for XC1 and emptied before XCX was released so repurposed without a new name! Tragically no such feats of completion by the time XC2 appeared... I'm still unsure why quest pages belong in any item category (eg Praying Caterpile Control in category:XC1DE Item pages with an incomplete infobox)?

        Loading editor
    • Probably copy/paste accident! I am fixing it, thank you again for pointing out those mistakes to me. At first we had more global cat. then more precise: Pages needed... > Item or Enemy or Location page needed... In fact, stub is sufficient for Quest pages.

  • With the new armor you can get from shops and from Time Battles in XC:DE. How should we handle the armor recognition? Gameplay is already coming out and I've already seen some cool-looking stuff.

    • Xenobladefan17, each new armour piece will have its page, on the armour page, probably a dedicated tab, it seems they are all light armour. If there are also medium and heavy new armour, probably no new tabs, we add them in the current tabs and specifying next to the name something like "(XC1DE)".

Anyways, all these discussions regarding listing pages content (like armour page) management or categorisation management will be discussed with the community.

    • Regardless, there's a lot of work to be done. Hope we can find all of them.

  • Since I can't write the website here google MLA citation. There's other styles of citing but since you don't tend to know what a source is compared to what the intent of the post is I highly recommend it. It's the worst thing to correcting information honestly and to me it really makes Fandom such a problem and not worth being in anymore. The Kaine page also loved incorrect information from people who never played the game and fan belief instead of actual honest information you could have found by actually playing the game. in thisa case you are only seeing a bunch links and assuming it's a source. Howevever they aren't referencing anything on the page but giving more detail of the locations to find the data probes. The last 2 give direct directions to get them since they're not near fast travel sites that are named by FN and don't come from quest or Chapter completions. This is pretty much information on the locations to get the data probes. I'm pretty sure you tried correcting my correct information before even which makes me question why you even edit. I contribute when I think it'll help or correct information that's been false to things I play. I've contributedto other things on fandom with no information even like Neptunia 7. In regards it might be why no one wants to help contribute to this site anymore because the edit gets changed incorrectly.

    • Essentially when it comes to sourcing which Fandom and wiki does yes a source is an origin of information. Essentially another term in wikis is sourcing. It's back up to where you obtained the information to prove your information in articles and in the case of preventing plagerism it gives credit to them. A source is yes the place of origin of where information comes from. In regards some of these definitely could be sources but there are few that are just directions to a location and may use sources within them so they technically aren't sources. They may not all be sources either as it depends if the articles back up the information in this article. In regards truthfully the actual source of where the information came from listed is the comment section and linked these links to some of those locations or quests within the game in this section. The last 2 may be harder to make as a source because they may be unnamed locations in the game. they're given directions to the location to obtain them and aren't directly links backing up information however they do use possible sources of nearby locations in the game. FN by the way are fast travel stations in the game used like coordinates. Not all the segments on the map are named however so whoever edited this put in a direction to the location of them where to find them. They're essentially locations and aren't sources. The most recent complaint was on not fixing the the information to add the last location and the ones from the past 4 years that were edited into this section from the information from the comment section were locations in the game as well. I technically added one of them listed even that wasn't listed. I've also changed and added other information on other fandom pages. I honestly don't doubt similar problems when trying to write in information with other people who use this site. Honestly if the editor just corrects it to be wrong why bother.

    • Yes. Do you understand that what I'm saying is that we're using the alternate definition of "source", meaning the source of the items rather than the source of the knowledge of where to find the items?

There's no need to explain XCX mechanics to me; I have played it. Addition of other probe sources is a good edit, hence why it remains on the page unadultered. Aside from the "locations" vs "sources" heading, do you have any problem with the listings?

  • Not sure if you saw Twitter, Gamefaqs, and/or Reddit recently, but apparently someone had broken their NDA with Nintendo and has started leaking information about XC:DE especially Future Connected on 4chan and it's causing several people in the fandom to panic and some are even running away to avoid spoilers even though there isn't anything major. I have a link to the Reddit thread regarding this and a bit of the NDA in question. On the bright side, the NDA revealed that they're bringing back the difficulty settings and the Event Theatre from XC2 and Torna so there's that. I don't care what anyone involved says afterward but regardless, Nintendo's gonna blacklist/fire them for breach of their NDA.

    • No and I am not interested by leaked info, I just take info from official materials (videos, twitter posts or websites) provided by Nintendo or Monolith Software. When you see what has just happened last week with The Last of Us part II, it is better to be careful.

The difficulty settings is not really a leaked info, a French retailer has published it from a list of features on the XC1DE page from where you can buy it.

  • After beating Zanza and getting a crown save file is it possible to get the junk sword or monado again, (I lost mine when Zanza took it and never got another one)

      Loading editor
    • Hi Xenoblade65. This means that you have started a New Game +, do not hesitate to take a look at this page. I have recently added a section for the weapons and armor that cannot be re-obtained in New Game +. So, no, in New Game + you cannot have anymore the Junk Sword or the initial Monado but you have and start instead with the Monado III. For example, this is also the case for the Scrap Driver, the initial Reyn's weapon, it cannot be re-obtained and Reyn starts with the weapon he wielded during the fight against Zanza, so if you have sold or thrown it out of your inventory, it will be definitively lost.

  • Hey, WA, I was just wondering when XC:DE comes out, should we replace some of the current photos with those from XC:DE? I'm asking this 'cause it'll take a lot of time if we go through with replacing them.

    • Anyway, let's see what will be published (artbook, guides, etc.) and what will happen, difficult to predict well at the moment, but I think that it is not a problem, at least, nothing to manage for now.

  • I would just like to know why you think that there can be more than one of the same key Item in a game. It does not make sense to me at all.

  • When renaming images from the Dolphin emulator, could we retain "dolphin" (or similar) in the new file name? Helps to differentiate emulated content from original wii content.

      Loading editor
    • At first sight it is a good idea, however technically we should avoid any "promotion" of emulation, so Dolphin here, since considered illegal (hacked video game console, and Nintendo is very strict against it). Not easy what to decide, but rigorously, we should avoid. Hopefully when we will have images from XC1:DE, I think that we may delete all "dolphin" images if necessary.

        Loading editor
    • I think if we're taking that stance then we should delete them now; all of the dolphin images we have are up for the purpose of illustrating how dolphin looks rather than providing unique/required images for ant of our pages.

        Loading editor
    • Yes, after thinking a bit more about this, I think we should delete them. The rules about copyright on Fandom are also rigorous, and I would not like to be warn or worse one day about this kind of thing, we worked so hard on this wiki!

  • Page says female - do you know if that was an assumption or based on something? (Many TTGC NPCs have incorrect gender / race info, but for Nopon can be a little difficult to determine...)

      Loading editor
    • For most of them, gender or even race, it is often assumption because many pages were created from a red link or a list, so with a page format (IB, text format, cat.) from a copy/paste.

  • Hi WA! To my knowledge all XC2/TTGC enemy drop tables have been filled out. I was looking at the XCX species' pages and their exciting enemy lists... Do you think it would be possible to make a source box for items similarly so that they need not be filled out manually?

      Loading editor
    • Hi Drahnian. Do you mean adding DPL tables on XC2/TTGC species pages like for XCX? I think it is possible yes, with time to well build the initial one.

Ah, if you had time, could you please help me to improve a paragraph? A contributor has initially added it then I corrected it, but he reverted it. I have cancelled the reversion. I tried to improve it in a more encyclopaedic way (clear and concise). Here the change, here the thread where I explain the problem. Many thanks.

        Loading editor
    • I don't, although that is also a good idea! I mean a table listing enemy, location, drop rate, as on XC1 item pages (see example Ledios Cuisses or any other) to save lots of time.

So I've seen! May be a day or two but will get on that ASAP!

        Loading editor
    • I see. I should take a look at it, in the XCX species pages, the DPL table "calls" all the pages of the category of the species of interest, for example on the Lepyx page, the pages of the Category:Lepyxes. So it is different for a table listing enemy, location, drop rate on an item page. If manually filled, the Special:WhatLinksHere can be very helpful for this.
