"I get a kick out of seeing people's faces every time!"
– Miqol

Miqol (English dub: /ˈmɪkɒl/) is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles. He is the leader of the Machina race and the father of Egil and Vanea, first met in the Hidden Machina Village once the party has rejoined with Fiora on the Fallen Arm. They are called to meet him aboard Junks, and he asks the party to kill his son - Egil. He goes on to explain a little more about Egil's history, and that of the Machina themselves. He is old enough to remember when Bionis fought Mechonis, saying he witnessed the fight between the two gods with his own eyes. It is unclear whether the orange orbs on his cheeks perhaps serve as eyes, as what appear to be his real eyes are never shown to be open at any point in the game.

Later, when the party falls from Mechonis, Miqol rescues them after being warned by Alvis that they were in danger by catching them on Junks. He then flies the party to the Mechonis Core and back again after the events there. He can always be found on Junks, both on the Fallen Arm and, after Mechonis is destroyed, in Colony 6 as well.

  • Miqol is six thousand years old, according to Riki during a Heart-to-Heart - "Riki Have Question" - with Fiora at the Syrath Lighthouse in Eryth Sea. It is implied that Riki found out this information by gossiping with Linada, as Riki then states that Linada would not tell him her age in what was surely the same conversation.
  • It is never explained why Miqol's body is so different from that of other Machina.
