The Monado Replica EX+, also known as the Monado REX+, is Shulk's weapon in Xenoblade Chronicles: Future Connected. It is the upgraded version of the Monado Replica EX, a replica Monado based on prototypes built by Miqol. Shulk observes that the upgrade is more akin to a tweak to the sword.
Story[]
Xenoblade Chronicles: Future Connected[]
After realizing that highly-concentrated ether may likely be the key to making the Fog King vulnerable, Shulk, with the help of Radzam, is able to upgrade his Monado Replica EX into the Monado Replica EX+, which has the power to fight the Fog King. When the party confronts the Fog King in the Imperial Villa, Shulk unleashes a wave of highly-concentrated ether with his sword, in a manner similar to Monado Enchant, which succeeds in making the Fog King susceptible to attacks.
Future Redeemed[]
The Monado REX+ appears in Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed as Shulk's Blade. The Monado REX+ is shown to be capable of destroying Flame Clocks.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3[]
During the ending of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the Monado REX+ is revealed to be in Melia's possession, presumably holding onto it as a memory of her old companions.
Trivia[]
- When Monado REX+ activates, the vents on the opposite side of the blade also flare up, making it bear some resemblance to Pyra's Aegis Sword and Dagas' Greataxe from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
