Monado Speed is one of Shulk's Monado arts in Xenoblade Chronicles. The colour of the blade turns dark blue upon activation. Ether particles are generated through the blade and then transferred to the recipient. This increases the recipient's physical evade rate significantly, allowing the recipient to dodge the enemy's physical attacks at a high rate.

The maximum evade rate is 95% for enemy physical Auto-Attacks; 90% for enemy's physical arts.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed[]

In Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed, Monado Speed is one of the arts used by Alpha. When used, it grants Alpha the Nullify Most Attacks buff. Additionally, Alpha's movements when using the art are very similar to Shulk's when using Speed in Xenoblade Chronicles.

In the Super Smash Bros. series[]

Monado Speed appears as one of the five buffs Shulk can give to himself by using Monado Arts in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, although it is quite different in this series. It boosts Shulk's ground speed, but reduces his jump height and he deals less damage. Shulk's feet will also glow blue with this art, the same color the Monado's light blade becomes when activating Speed in the original game.

Trivia[]

ShulkMonadoUnbound

The symbol for Monado Speed displayed on the Monado during Shulk's Level IV Blade Special, Monado Unbound.

  • The symbol that appears on the Monado when Monado Speed is activated is the kanji "ē–¾", which is the base of the word "ē–¾ć" (quickly, swiftly).
  • The cutscene that introduces Monado Speed clearly shows that Reyn and Sharla were given a speed increase. However, when used in battle, it will only speed up one character.
  • In Xenoblade Chronicles 2, when Shulk activates the Monado during his Level IV Blade Special, Monado Unbound, the symbol for Monado Speed appears on the Monado. Additionally, the symbol for Monado Speed appears on the Monado, when equipped as a Swordfighter weapon skin, in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 when using Air Slash.
