An Ovis

Ovis (Japanese: オウィス, Owisu) are small sheep-like herbivore enemies in Xenoblade Chronicles X dwelling in prairies. They are similar to Kapibas in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Description[]

"Herbivorous creatures that make their homes in large flocks on the Miran plains. The hair covering their bodies is unusually stiff, with certain areas taking on an armor-like quality that adds plenty of protection from predators. The one exception is the pom-pom-like tail, which is rather soft. An especially lush tail is the sign of a plentiful diet, which makes it a powerful status symbol."

"The mild temperament of ovis complements its defense-oriented physique. They are quite fearful of confrontations, and would much rather flee than fight."

Color Variants[]

Ovis fall into three color variants:

  • A tan variant with light tan fur, black bony plates, and a white pom-pom. They can drop Lovely Pom Poms.
  • A white variant with white fur, grey bony plates, and a light green pom-pom. They can drop Cimmerian Pom Poms.
  • A brown variant with tan-and-brown striped fur and pom-pom, and brown bony plates. They can drop Hard Pom Poms.
