A Scirpo

Scirpos (Japanese: シルネア, Shirunea) are spider-like creatures in Xenoblade Chronicles X. In general, red scirpos tend to be aggressive hunters, while blue and pink scirpos are docile scavengers. They can be found in Primordia, Noctilum, Oblivia, and Sylvalum.

Description

"Nocturnal arachnids that use a secreted silk thread to dangle from trees, where they camouflage themselves as fruit before pouncing on any creatures that come too close. The scirpo's powerful venom allows them to subdue prey of significantly larger size than themselves."

"Scirpo hatchlings are extremely small, and will extrude thread into the air immediately upon birth, catching the wind in order to traverse long distances. Out of the thousands born from one brood, less than 10 will survive into adulthood."

Color Variants

Scirpos fall into three color variants:

• Red scirpos have green exoskeletons and orange acid sacs. They can drop Scirpo Malic Acid Sacs.
• Blue scirpos have blue exoskeletons and blue-green acid sacs. They can drop Scirpo Cyanide Sacs.
• Pink scirpos have white and purple exoskeletons and pink acid sacs. They can drop Scirpo Sulfuric Acid Sacs.
