Smoke Cylinder

Smoke Cylinders (Japanese: 紫煙の円筒, Shien no Entō) are collectables in Xenoblade Chronicles. They can be found in the Central Factory and Colony 6. According to their description, Dunban named them dubiously and they are pretty smoke-emitting cylinders.

Location[]

Central Factory - the following locations have the highest spawn rate (15%) for Smoke Cylinder:

GF: Maintenance Entrance 1; look for the spawn points on the climbable walls
GF: northeast of the Control Tower; between the two stairways
GF: south of the Control Tower; inside the hangars
GF: Storage Depot; mid-left and mid-right area of the room
2F: Large Mechon Store; from the map, look for the H-shaped platform. The spawn point is below it (roughly at the center of the H).
2F: Inside the Factory Vent. There is a spawn point on the passage ahead.
2F: Inside the Factory Vent. From the map, look for the narrow platform in the middle. The spawn point is at the south end of the platform.
3F: Inside the Factory Vent. After reaching 3F, the passages lead to some spawn points, up to the point where the surprise quest prompt appears.

GF: Landing Strip 1 area
GF: Landing Strip 2 area
GF: the bridge
1F: The floor above Landing Strip 1
1F: The floor above Landing Strip 2
1F: near the earth elemental ether gear; only accessible by jumping off the lift
2F: Training Ground Roof
5F: 2 spawn points on the south bridge; 1 spawn point at the end of the east bridge
5F: north of the Ventilation Conduit; look for the spawn point up ahead

Colony 6 after completing both Special LV4 upgrade and the Mechonis Core (15%):

Top of the watchtower from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. (southwest of the entrance of Colony 6).
