The Sororal Statues (Japanese: 岩窟の姉妹像, Gankutsu no Shimai-zō) are a landmark in Xenoblade Chronicles. They are located in Satorl Marsh, on the east side of the map. While on the map it appears that the Statue Summit is easy to get to from here, the party must actually climb the statues, using vines growing on the walls in certain places.

A Heart-to-Heart — "High Entia History" — is located here.

Story[]

The engravings on the floor in front of the Statues are the Adulthood Emblem with four emplacements for offerings. According to the Nopon Merchant this place serves to perform an ancient High Entia coming-of-age ceremony. The Satorl Guardian is fought here during The Ancient Ceremony after the party has collected the four Radiants required for Ancient Ceremony Offerings and placed them on the Adulthood Emblem.

Some of the High Entia refugees escape here after the Bionis awakens, and they give various other quests.

Later the Radiant Pterix is battled here to receive the High Entia Emblem during the The Imperial Ceremony after collecting four new Radiants needed for Imperial Ceremony Offerings and placed on the Adulthood Emblem.

The statues are of the twin High Entia goddesses of justice and order, Soltnar and Khatorl respectively, depicted in the likenesses of High Entia women —Satorl Marsh is named after them (Soltnar + Khatorl). Soltnar Seal Island and Khatorl Seal Island, both in Eryth Sea, are also named after them.

Etymology[]

The "sororal" part of Sororal Statues comes from the Latin word for sister, "soror" (as Soltnar and Khatorl are both twin sisters) and the English adjectival suffix "-al." The common synonym for sororal is sisterly.
