Taunt is a debuff in Xenoblade Chronicles X. Similar to Lock-On in Xenoblade Chronicles, Taunt forces those afflicted with it to target the party member or enemy who used a Taunt-inflicting Battle Art. Its effect is shown as a blue line (for party member-inflicted Taunt) or a red line (for enemy-inflicted Taunt) connecting to the one who inflicted Taunt. While those afflicted with Taunt can only focus on one opponent, Battle Arts that can hit multiple opponents at once will still do so.
If an ally becomes afflicted with Taunt, they will not be able to switch targets to other enemies. If an appendage is locked on to, Taunt will forcibly switch appendage lock to the main body. Party members cannot put away weapons or board or exit Skells while affected by Taunt.
