Teach (Japanese: シドウ, Shidou) is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Overview

Teach is recruitable as a Hero. He is the commander of Colony Gamma. He is an Agnian with Indoline traits.

Teach is recruited by completing the Hero Quest Going Beyond Power. His Class Rank can be increased to 20 by completing the Ascension Quest Shadow of Enmity.

Background

Before he would be referred to as Teach, he was known as All-Slayer Oleg (Japanese: 尽滅のオウガイ, Jǐnmetsu no Ōgai), the Agnian commander of the now-defunct Colony Chi. He was responsible for wiping out many Kevesi troops and an entire Colony to which an avenger of those troops has accounted about in their past, proven during Shadow of Enmity. However, his ruthless tactics nearly wiped out his own colony in the process, which led him to realize that his hubris had come close to destroying all he fought for.

To escape from his haunting past and to ensure that others will not be corrupted by their own power as he was, he proceeds to identify himself as Teach, a proper commander and combat instructor to Colony Gamma. He imbues the proper morals to his student colony members as evidenced by Kyrie when she confronted the Avenger during her rescue, persevering the battle as a moment of honor and potential. It is implied that he fought against Ashera when he was known as Oleg during the quest Festival of War.

Gameplay

His class is the Healer class named Thaumaturge, and wields a Blade known as the Martial Linkstaff.

In a Chain Attack, Teach starts with 30 TP by default. Teach's Chain Art is Dragon Unbound, and his Heroic Chain bonus gives all other active characters 10 TP.
