For the Unique Monster in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, see Territorial Rotbart (XC2).

Territorial Rotbart (Japanese: 縄張りバルバロッサ, Nawabari Barubarossa, lit. Territorial Barbarossa) is a Unique Monster in Xenoblade Chronicles. It is a member of the Gogol family, and can be found at level 81 on the Gaur Plain between Jabos Rock Rest Area and Rho Oasis, on the Bionis' Leg. It must be defeated to complete the Colony 6 quest Homs Determination, given by Perrine if she moves to Colony 6. It can also drop the Gogol Horns required for A Token of Friendship and Colony 6 Reconstruction.

It deals topple spike damage and gains a Crazed aura below 30% health. Territorial Rotbart is the third highest leveled enemy on Bionis' Leg after Armoured Rockwell, a Torta at level 82, and Immovable Gonzalez, another Gogol at level 90.

Trivia[]

  • The Tyrant Hayreddin, the Territorial from Xenoblade Chronicles X may be a reference to Territorial Rotbart (or Barbarossa in Japanese). In addition to them both being "Territorial," they are both level 81, red-furred, giant ape-like monsters that can be encountered early on from the beginning of their respective games, in grassy areas surrounded by low-level monsters. Furthermore, they both share the name of Barbaros Hızır Hayreddin Paşa, a famous Ottoman privateer admiral, known under the nicknames "Barbarossa" in Italian, "Red Beard" in English, "Rotbart" in German or "Barberousse" in French.
  • It shares its name with the Territorial Rotbart from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Both are red-furred Gogol, Unique Monsters found at level 81 and are encountered early on when the party is low-level.
