Yeah, I think the Classes were the one thing I forgot to add to the gameplay section of the page, but I agree that it reminded me very much so of the skill trees.

I don't think I'd have made a better summary of the story even though I always intended to return to it.

It doesn't make sense to me, but I don't have kids or run a school, and I'm in no way prudish or opposed to fun and slackitude, so my perspective on what people under 18 should be allowed to access is no doubt quite different from that of the people who decide what to block.

The thing with the classes is I have a long history of playing pen and paper RPGs, like Dungeons and Dragons. In those games a character's class very often equates with their role. There's flexibility in the way you build your character, but generally speaking Fighters are tanks, Rogues are stealthy surprise attackers, and Clerics are healers.

So when they said you could change your class, my first thought was that you could change your role. Which would've been a huge departure from XC1. When I rewatched the Treehouse video though, I wasn't so convinced that'll be the case. That's a good thing though. One thing I liked about XC1 was the strongly defined character roles.

Also, has anyone else noticed that Alma's clothes and weapons kind of make her look like post-Galahad Fiora? In particular the way her guns are on her back look like Fiora's drones.

The theory is it has the same restrictions as the Internet on the school computers, so anything possible inappropriate or related to games is blocked so people focus on work. Of course then there's millions of pages blocked for wrong reasons or cos they can't ve bothered to categorise it.

Yeah, that's the general role of classes in most things, including most JRPGs, so it'll be interesting to see what they do with it. I thought it meant weapon changes etc. initially too, though I think that might still be the three first class branches before they split into minor branches.

I can see it, but it didn't stand out to me immediately so I doubt it was an intended similarity. Some are saying that the black haired girl in the cockpit of some ship has Monado hairpins, but I think it's a stretch.

I thought in the Treehouse demo they said that (most, all?) characters could switch between ranged and melee weapons. So I figured that was independent of class.

Pretty sure I know which black-haired girl you mean. Since I've got a decent TV now, I'll watch the video again sometime soon from my Wii U and see what I think about those hairpins.

Yeah, I remember that, but when we think Xenoblade's 7 weapons/classes, I don't see only the same two weapons. But who knows.

I figured you're the best to mention it to, it could be something to do with the new visual editor since none of us use it

That would be it. I activated the new Visual Editor a while ago cos I liked our Wiki being at the front of the features, but on my school laptop I'd never had the ability to test it myself, so chances are if shouldn't gave been activated.
