I've never played them before, except yesterday, getting as far as playing as Fiora for the first time, and while I now know I should wait until I have both Fiora and Shulk to fight any more enemies, there's still so much I don't understand, I know they explain it but it's a lot to remember.
Aside from what I mentioned, are there any tips in case I want to buy the game back (I returned it) and try it again?
I've also been told side quests can make me overleveled, and I know how to initiate them, but how will I know where to go to complete them? Also how do I know which items I should sell? I'm having a harder time figuring it out than Breath of the Wild.
Maybe it'll help if I describe which games I've played, which I'm good at, and which I'm not.
I'm really good at the first three Paper Marios, Super Mario Bros., Zelda games (mostly Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Breath of the Wild), and some of the Sonic games (notably Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic Adventure, Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic Rush, Sonic Generations, and fairly good at Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic Heroes (though some parts were annoying), Sonic Lost World, and Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity). Also fairly good at Tomb Raider: Legend and Tomb Raider: Anniversary, and Eternal Darkness. And the Star Fox games in main continuity, though parts of them are kinda hard.
Had a bit of difficulty with Sonic Rivals 2, Sonic Unleashed, Tomb Raider: Underworld, Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Dead Space, and Uncharted. A LOT of difficulty with The Last of Us and Sonic the Hedgehog 1, and I doubt I'd do well at the 2013 Tomb Raider. I've beaten Super Mario RPG and the first four Mario & Luigi games, and almost all the Mario games released before Super Mario 3D Land. And Pokemon Colosseum, getting all Shadow Pokemon.
I can only beat any of the Gex games by putting in cheat codes. I've beaten all three Bomberman games for the N64, getting their true endings, though I had a lot of difficulty with Bomberman Hero in this regard, but replaying Bomberman 64 on virtual console I had an easier time with the Gold Cards. I have also beaten Metroid Prime 2: Echoes a few times, but needed a walkthrough to do so.
So taking all that into account... do I have what it takes to beat Xenoblade Chronicles without any prior experience to Xenoblade?
