The Tornan King is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country. He is the ruler of the Kingdom of Torna during the Aegis War, brother of Zettar and father of Addam.
Story[]
The Tornan King had a relationship with a non-Tornan woman, possibly a Leftherian, leading to the birth of Addam. Addam as a result has golden eyes, as opposed to the Tornan norm of blue eyes. Amalthus later arrived in search of a Driver for the other Aegis, and Addam became Mythra's Driver.
Addam and the others eventually hold a conference with the King, High Prince Zettar, and Quaestor Amalthus. Zettar attempts to punish Addam for allowing an army to travel throughout Torna's borders, but the King sides with Addam. He expresses his gratitude towards Hugo's assistance and attempts to enfeoff Addam as the Lord of Heblin, though Addam refuses and simply asks for free passage through Torna for his militia. Zettar later confronts his brother about this, and the Tornan King admits his belief that Addam would make for a much better king that himself or Zettar.
After Malos attacks Auresco and takes the seal, Zettar attempts to punish Addam once more for not stopping Malos. The King once again defends Addam, noting that Hugo and Addam confronted Malos while Zettar's soldiers fled with the townspeople. He asks for Hugo's help once more and offers to knight Lora in recognition of her efforts. He also requests that Lora help the townspeople through these dark times, to which Lora accepts.

After Mythra defeats Malos, the ensuing attack causes massive damage to Auresco. The King watches in shock as the capital is destroyed. Zettar attempts to flee, but the King refuses, and Zettar escapes on his own. The Tornan King then leaves Addam in control of the throne before being crushed to death by falling debris.
